Warren Sapp Arrested for Assault and Soliciting a Prostitute During Super Bowl Weekend in Phoenix (Video)

Warren Sapp Arrested for Assault and Soliciting a Prostitute in Phoenix (Video)

Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was arrested in Arizona on Monday on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute and accused of assaulting two women, according to a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Phoenix police arrested the 42-year-old Sapp at 7 a.m. MT Monday at a downtown Phoenix hotel, Lt. Brandon Jones said.

Alex Riethmiller, a spokesman for the NFL network, told The Hollywood Reporter that Sapp's contract has been terminated.

Sapp, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013, played in the NFL from 1995-2007 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders after a collegiate career at the University of Miami (Fla.)

Police originally were called to the hotel on a noise disturbance, and when officers arrived a woman said she had been assaulted, according to Sgt. Trent Crump, a Phoenix police spokesman.

The woman told police that she and another woman were working as escorts and that an argument about money in a guest's room turned physical and spilled out into the hallway, Crump said.

Investigators said they determined an act of prostitution had occurred in the guest's room, and Sapp was arrested.

Sapp told investigators he paid one of the women for sex, but he denied any assault, according to police.

Investigators said they observed the women had minor injuries, which were consistent with assault, Crump said.

For the life of me I can't understand why Warren would pick Super Bowl weekend of all weekends to solicit a prostitute. I'm not saying that another weekend would have been better, but it's a known fact that high profile events (especially sports) are usually a time for increased illegal activities. In fact, sting operations are often conducted during these high profile events. Law Enforcement usually cleans up during this time.

I recently watched an episode of Drugs Inc. that followed drug dealers in New York City on New Year's Eve. Apparently New Year's Eve is the biggest night in sales for drug dealers across the country, especially in New York City. According to the masked dealer in the episode, New Year's Eve is a day that the most people decide it's acceptable to experiment or resume regular usage of illegal drugs. Same theory applies to high Super Bowl weekend. I would lean out on a ledge and guess that Super Bowl weekend is the highest sales weekend for prostitutes of the host city.

Why wouldn't Warren know this same tidbit?

Now he is out of a job for some BS!
