For the past couple of weeks we've had to suffer through Mitt Romney -- a rich northern venture capitalist -- placate Southern voters with his talks about how he has "started eating cheesy grits" and has learned to say the word "yall"...as if these things can instantly build up his red neck street cred. Steve Urkel would get more respect trying to freestyle on the streets of Baltimore than this guy. As a result, Mr. Rick "Anti-College" Santorum decisively took the South. It is also notable to observe that Newt Gingrich has remained in this race assuming that his "Southern Strategy" would carry him through these Southern primaries. Now that that didn't work, he has to come up with a really really really good reason as to why he's still here.
