***UPDATE*** - Casey Anthony Sentencing

The defense team for Casey Anthony stood before Florida Judge Belvin Perry Thursday morning and asked for three of the four counts to be dropped, citing Double Jeopardy. They argued that information listed in all four counts were taken from one single police interview that took place in July 2008. The prosecution countered this claim, stating that the lies of each individual count were four distinct and separate lies and should be treated as such. All four counts led to separate investigations and searches.

Judge Perry sided with the prosecution and invoked the decision of the jury to find Anthony Guilty of all four counts; stating that there is no legal cause shown to not impose sentencing for all four counts. Casey has been sentenced to one-year in Orange County jail and will be fined $1000 for each of the four counts, each count to run consecutive and Anthony will be given time served. The two teams will come together to figure out the time served. Everyone can hold their heads and relax, Ms. Anthony will not be released from jail today.
